ttmagazin_degisim_donusum_gelisim.png (110 KB)We know the story of Tezmaksan, Mustafa Aydoğdu came to Istanbul from Sivas, got into business and found himself in machinery production. Can you tell us about your transition process from production to sales of machine tools?

After the late Turgut Özal emphasized the importance of imports to support investments at an event held at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in the 1980s, our founder Mustafa Aydoğdu realized that Turkey did not have enough technology to compete in the world market. Under the conditions of that day, it was not possible to supply the machines with the desired quality, price and quantity in Turkey. Therefore, it was a much smarter idea to obtain this technology from abroad instead of producing it from scratch. Because with the new period, the demands of the producing companies were not ending and they needed all kinds of countertops. As Tezmaksan, we attended a meeting in Istanbul where Taiwanese companies introduced themselves and their products, and we met Lin, the owner of Firts Long Chang Machinery, for which we are still the Turkey representative. After meeting with Lin, we visited factories in Taiwan. After these visits, we started importing with the order of eight molding milling cutters.

In fact, at this stage, you served the industrial production in Turkey again, but did you experience the pain of quitting production and switching to sales? How was Tezmaksan received by the Turkish industry when it left the production of saws and became a supplier?

When I came to Turkey's technology supplier Tezmaksan from being the manager of a company that exports to 65 countries, as a result of the separation that occurred due to the disagreements between the partners, which is frequently experienced in family companies, I became a person sitting on the opposite side of the table. I think this empathy is very helpful in the development of business models. Since I have a production background, we have worked on the localization of many imported products, and we have especially supported and contributed to the production of advanced technology machines in Turkey. Apart from this, we have always had small-scale production trials in different sectors with the love of production. We decided to grow in the fields of CNC Machine Automation and Robotic Technology and Production Tracking Software production with high added value and support to production with different technological start-ups.

40 years have passed since the beginning, what has changed in our country's industry in 40 years?

While producing with universal benches, the NC and CNC frenzy swept through our country's industry in the 90's. Now, smart machines and robot-automated production are in question.

As a witness, can you describe the change from your own perspective?

In parallel with the free trade moves of the 80s, the institutionalization investments of the 90s and the information age of the 2000s, we have developed our breakthroughs in this direction. With Industry 4.0, which became more important after the 2010s, we accelerated our technology and innovation investments. We are reaping the fruits of our predictions and decisions in these years, especially during the global pandemic we are in. As we all know, one of the most important benefits of Industry 4.0 is digitalization. As a company, we started to analyze the efficiency of the machines we sell by employing local engineers and software experts in our digital transformation journey. And we became the domestic manufacturer of the tracking and productivity software Çağrımatik platform, which has become the most important criterion of production. We have not only shaped our own adventure with the investment and innovative approach we have made during this journey. Summary of 40 years for Tezmaksan: Change, transformation, development One of the milestones of the machine tools industry, Tezmaksan is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the Turkish industry this year. Tezmaksan General Manager Hakan Aydoğdu recalls the 40-year adventure of change, transformation and growth and tells the new goals of the company, and says "it is most enjoyable to make the same journey with companies that want to become a world brand". We have also undertaken the leadership of many products that will support production especially for the Turkish industry and increase the competitiveness of our industry globally.

In a way, the recent history of the Turkish industry with the old, rooted and developing structure of Tezmaksan in the historical sector... Did you foresee this development and success when you started working in this company? Does the industry give you hope?

When I was 28 years old, I always said that there is nothing that cannot be produced in the country as someone who exports technological machinery to 65 countries. We have always been an encouraging solution partner for our customers' investments, since we established a factory from top to bottom at Tezmaksan. We have hundreds of success story companies that we started from scratch and became a world brand, and grew together, so to speak. We have always had this pride. Yes, we have always dreamed and predicted these successes and even better ones.

What has made Tezmaksan and therefore you the happiest in 40 years? Happy customers? Companies that produce what is not produced in Turkey with the service you offer? Are your turnover targets? To achieve the projects you planned? to grow up?

I have always been excited and proud of the results, to open up the perception of many vague discourses such as the importance of machine tool use, the importance of periodic maintenance, digitalization in the sector, and paving the way for new investments by exploring different financing methods. Budgets are made, targets are set and they are met, but it is most enjoyable to make the same journey with companies that want to be able to produce what is not produced in the big picture and to become a world brand from scratch.

Of course, you did not stay the same in your 40-year adventure. You didn't say "I know this job, I can do it", you also got into brand new business lines. Institutionalization, software applications, innovation in service, customer satisfaction studies etc. You applied application after application. What was at the root of all this?

In fact, the most important thing is to keep up to date... For this reason, it is very difficult to get rid of old methods and evolve. Everyone talks about change, but no one wants to put up with the challenge of change. Our country's industrialists, who are very hardworking, are the laziest thing to keep up with change... I have always believed in the power of transformation. Success is to take the experience of the old and adapt it to the style of the new generation. Saying "change, digitize, create continuity" to your customer is a rosewood on everyone's lips, success is impossible unless you do this starting from yourself and expanding with the ecosystem. You will either transform or be erased from the pages of history.

Your robot company did not come as a surprise to the Turkish industry. You have made new investments and opened new business areas with your engineering experience. As you step into 40 years... Could your Cubebox and robot studies in particular show that you continue to have a passion for actively dealing with production?

As Tezmaksan, we have been calling out to the entire industry as "Let's Produce" for years. Because the changing age also changes the criteria of production day by day. As an institution that always updates itself and looks forward, it is not just robotization; We have positioned ourselves as the founder of an ecosystem that can analyze robotization, deliver robot projects, and meet thousands of industry representatives. Today, we can easily say that, acting with this understanding, Tezmaksan has become a technology company in this process. A real solution that provides 360-degree service by providing robotic automation consultancy and transformation of companies, providing instant monitoring of their factory, machinery and production, providing qualified workforce support while doing these, and renting all these services to those who say "you say it well but where is the money" We are partners now.

How do you foresee the future of Tezmaksan?

As Tezmaksan, our goal is very clear: We aim for a generation that exhibits dark factories, has production lines without operators, and works with digital twins of screen factories and machines without being physically in the factory. Because young people; He wants to follow the production with smart glasses, program the machine remotely without going to the machine, load and unload the machines with robots, and even handle the needs of the machine remotely. As a factory that makes factories, Tezmaksan is ready for this future with its latest technological equipment.
